When they think about Twitter, some people react with thoughts of “I don’t care about what someone ate for lunch or what celeb is in the news” but the networking power of Twitter can really transform how educators seek resources, personalize their professional development, find motivation or support, and stay current with changes both in the content area and in education in general.
Learning how to build a feed of quality tweets as well as how to search & connect through using hashtags will begin to unlock all that Twitter can offer. The Office of Innovation is happy to help assist in that journey. To encourage people to dive in, we are running a two-week Twitter Blackout Challenge. Complete all 16 tasks in the attached document, be sure to include #innov8dmps in any tweets and send @innov8dmps a tweet with the word BLACKOUT when you are complete. The deadline is noon on Monday, December 14. We’ll check your activity and enter you into a drawing to reward you for your ‘connected-ness.’ Also, the building with the most staff to complete the challenge will receive a morning of coffee, cocoa and treats.
Good luck and happy tweeting!
