Closing the Lid
Technology has put in place a network policy place so that laptop computers automatically shut down when the lid is closed and the computer is running on battery power.
This policy was initiated due to complaints about computer performance. Technology continues to see problems with updates not installing correctly since computers aren't shut down on a daily basis, and are put in hibernation or sleep mode instead.
Updates are a crucial to maintain a healthy computer and a safe network.
NOTE: The computer will NOT shut down by closing the lid when it's plugged into a power adaptor. If you don't want it to shut down when you close the lid, plug the laptop into a power source.
