My instructional challenge as a Special Education teacher is being able to meet each individual students' needs even when I serve them in a small group. I want a tool that will help me monitor whether or not a student is progressing towards the IEP goals and is beneficial to their learning. I know there are many of the students that I serve that show signs of dyslexia. These students are often very capable and have so much to share, but the reading and writing component limits how they can show what they know. This is especially true with having evidence of proficiency on the SRG scales. I am interested in how technology could be put in place as a tool for the learning disabled student in the general education classroom.
Step 1: Set up a OneNote Class Notebook and teach students how to log on and get to their notebook
Step 2: Make lessons that each student can do from that notebook while I am teaching individual students
Step 3: Have students dictate their writing or them reading using Learning Tools in OneNote
Step 4: Have students video themselves reading for fluency using Office Mix?
Step 5: have students with Math intervention goals use STMath
Step 6: Reflect and revise my approach based on STMath data.
Reflection & Findings:
Trailblazers will post thoughts here from their three reflection periods during the year.
