Hiatt Middle School
I currently am partially doing a blended learning classroom. I struggle with how to teach this process to my students.
Reflection & Findings:
February: I feel like I am in the beginning stages of working to blend my classroom. I have been working on this for about a year now. Even though I feel as if I am just beginning, I feel as if I am improving my processes. However I feel as though my students' are benefiting. I feel as though I am not holding back my students that are on level or advanced. My biggest roadblock has been getting the students to become motivated learners and more independent. I feel as though they like to have everything "spelled out" for them, instead of doing self discovery. Some students just want to get the work done without watching my videos and actually learning. Through our trailblazer day today, I was able to problem solve with my instructional technology coach and other teachers on how to make students more accountable. My biggest success has been in being able to work more individualized with students and in small groups to help them with vocabulary, reading and writing. I am working to use my daily classroom data to set up groups. Some of these groups are remedial for a certain topic, and I am also setting up groups to challenge my students more.
